A Life Of Giving
What doesn’t kill you…
I am fortunate to have found my calling in helping others through sports.
My journey started in a small, rural community where life was unpredictable. Often not knowing what each day, or even each hour, might bring, I found comfort in sports, learning to rely on myself frequently.
With two younger sisters in my life, we were exposed to more than any three children should ever face. However, giving up was not an option for us. My faith, and thankfulness to the Grace of God for never abandoning me. Playing sports, particularly basketball, was my saving grace. Through failures on my own, and things bestowed upon me, sports provided an avenue for growth, humility and opportunity.
I empathize with those who have endured deep pain and suffering, yet still manage to give to others, even when they have nothing to offer but a smile and their heart.
My story is a testament to hope, affirming that no matter your past, you deserve success and happiness just as much as anyone else.
I’m thankful for earning a master’s degree, undergraduate degree in Education, 7 years of college coaching, 13 years of high school coaching, and 36+ years in youth sports.
On January 4th, 2025, my father passed away, leaving a legacy of kindness, giving, and helping others, which my efforts are only strengthened moving forward to do as he did his entire life.
I've achieved my goal in building my own your sports facility in 2017, named the Power 2 Play Sports Event Center.
Over the years, positioned alongside those who did not share my values and care towards affordable opportunities for kids, I have been blessed to move forward, focusing on the little things vs. the always have to be bigger mentality! I’m truly thankful I no longer sit in meetings with those around me focused on more $$$, while I daydreamed about how I needed to be writing thank you cards to those who believed in my programs.
Passion and Purpose
I've learned that what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. For me, for you, whatever our journeys involve, there's no true end to giving, aiding others, and believing in the path we're on. Tomorrow presents opportunities that yesterday did not.
I hold the belief that a gentleman's handshake still holds significance. I advocate for the idea that everyone who enters your life, whether for good, bad, or even the malevolent, serves a purpose.
The future of The Sports Biz Network-MP Sports looks promising, committed to guiding others on how to forge a career in sports, being generous, and ultimately, when the world insists it's impossible, I remain your staunchest ally, steadfastly by your side, proving to the world that you can achieve what the skeptics question.
While my work serves as my platform, my aspirations center on being an exemplary father to my wonderful daughter. We endeavor to provide our children with the opportunities we lacked, and this commitment will steadfastly guide me to improve daily, surpassing who I was yesterday, and to impart the lesson that the life one leads is a testament to one's own efforts.
My faith is my guidance force, single most important part of my life, allowing me to be grounded. Sports is my path, opportunity for helping others, and for that, I will always resolve whatever obstacle is in front of me, knowing that helping others is the result of persistence.
